Joining instructions for participants and timings for the broadcast

9 days to go!

Well, we now only have 9 days until ‘The Big Assembly’ so the team are literally working around the clock to make sure that everything is ready in time.

Diocesan co-ordinators have now received joining instructions for all of the participants from their Dioceses, so if you’ve been allocated a place you should be receiving these this week. The joining instructions contain all of the information you need to know about when to arrive, what to bring and how to get on to the site. It’s really important to read these carefully as they contain a lot of security information, which has to be followed in order to gain access to St Mary’s next week.

For those of you watching around the country on 17th September, don’t forget that the live webfeed will be available via www.thepapalvisit.org.uk. The feed will be available from 9.45am,  and the live coverage of ‘The Big Assembly’ will start at 10.15am. We expect that this will last an hour, finishing at around 11.15am.

Don’t forget to tune into Archbishop Vincent Nichols’ live broadcast to every school this Friday 10th September at 10.30am, again available via www.thepapalvisit.org.uk. He’ll be speaking for 5-10 minutes about the Holy Father’s visit to the United Kingdom and ‘The Big Assembly’ and this message will be a great way to help students and teachers to prepare for Pope Benedict XVI’s arrival next week.

Thanks to everyone who has emailed or phoned to tell us what their school is doing to prepare. If you have exciting plans to celebrate the Holy Father’s visit, please do let us know using the box below!
