School choirs set to sing for the Pope

Today we’re delighted to announce that two school choirs will sing for Pope Benedict XVI at The Big Assembly on 17th September 2010.

Holy Rosary and St Anne’s Catholic Primary School is from Chapeltown, Leeds. They are due to become the first state choir school later this year. Click here to visit the school’s website. They were recently featured in the Times Educational Supplement, and you can read the article online here.

Maria Fidelis Convent School is a Catholic secondary school in North London. The choir recently won the BBC “Songs of Praise” School Choir of the Year competition. You can watch their winning performance on the BBC Songs of Praise website. There will be more information about these two choirs on the blog over the coming months, as they begin their preparations for The Big Assembly.
